missing Networks and more
How to get the Networks back or ……
As you know by now, Dish switched their satellite Echostar 7 to the new Echostar 14, both on the 119w location. Echostar 14 has fewer channels, over 140 channels less !
Here are your options to get the networks back and or the other missing channels like USA, TNT, Spike, FX, Discovery, TLC and so on
- Call https://www.mydistantnetworks.com/ and tell them you moved to Puerto Rico and need the Networks from San Francisco. Before you call, look up an address in Puerto Rico from the internet, prepare a matching phone number, your receiver number, your smartcard number and a credit card with the corresponding information. This will give you the Networks back but you will still miss all the other 140 some channels
- Change the LNB to a special one which gets satellite 119w and 118.8 w and get the HD networks from Pittsburg, this will only add the Networks, NOT the other missing channels using the same steps as described above.
- Turn your Dish to 110w and get the HD Networks from LA or Chicago and some more channels, using the same steps as described above.
- Turn your Dish to the new satellite 72.7w and get all the programming and much more, HD and SD but NO networks. Turning the Dish to 72.7w ( Nimiq 5) is almost the opposite of the direction where your Dish is pointing right now, some people might not be able to do this because of a building, trees or other things making it impossible to turn the dish. The direction for the Dish would be 130 degrees.
- Turn your Dish to 129w and be able to get up to 120 channels in HD, High Definition. This is in my opinion the best choice since the programming is great, all HD and 129w is a very strong satellite !
- Install a second Dish pointed to 129w, turn your existing Dish to 110w and combine both signals. This would give you all you are used to and more, HD and SD !
Whatever you decide to do, there is no need any more to contact Dishnetwork, since the 1st of June, local networks are included in your basic subscription ! There is no need to cancel those missing channels in your subscription !
Here is a link where you can see the available programming on each satellite : https://docs.google.com/fileview?id=0B2LDvhncZonxMjRmNzJmMmMtZmQzMi00NTg3LTg4NmQtOGQzYmQ5NmY5NGQw&hl=en
Almost forgot to mention, Distant Networks is going to charge you a few dollars extra for their service, this is NOT free !
